Nutrition
Policy
The Owner/Director and the Nutrition Provider plan
our monthly menus. Meals and snacks will
follow USDA guidelines in order that each child
is provided with experiences to enhance life-long
healthy nutritional practices. We will provide a
culturally diverse menu. Meals will be homemade,
nourishing and attractive to the children. A copy
of the monthly menu will be placed in each child's
mailbox. Dependant upon the child's schedule of
care, he/she will be provided with breakfast, morning
snack, lunch, and afternoon snack.
Role
modeling will be used in proper hand washing and
table manners. Mealtime is a social activity.
Care providers are trained to provide this learning
experience in a positive family style manner.
Infants
will be held and engaged while being fed a bottle.
Toddlers will use a highchair as needed and will
be exposed to regular meals when parents and curriculum
directors deem necessary.
All
children, when developmentally ready, will
participate in the preparation of mealtime. They
will set tables, serve food, and pour beverages.
